To capture the essence of a system that has ruled the country for the centuries, a visit to the Red Square is a must. There, in the centre of a large cobble square, stands the Lenin Mausoleum, the symbol of communist reign. Nearby are the St. Basil’s Cathedral, Historical Museum and the GUM departmental store. Walk through the Kremlin, the most ancient part of Moscow, to experience the glorious past preserved in the 15th-19th century monuments. Savor the three famous Kremlin cathedrals – Cathedrals of Assumption, Annunciation and St. Michael Archangel. Then round off the day’s tour with the Church of Deposition of the Robe, the Belfry of Ivan the Great and the Patriarch’s Palace.
Day 03 Moscow
A full day tour will start with a visit to Fine Arts Pushkin Museum. And no tour to Moscow is complete without a visit to any one of the sumptuously decorated, chandeliered Underground (Metro) train stations. After that we will have a free time on Arbat – the only one pedestrian street in Moscow. In the evening, be ready for a sleeping compartment rail across the great low land from Moscow capital to Empire capital – St. Petersburg.
Day 04 St. Petersburg
Founded by Tsar Peter the Great, St. Petersburg is a city of architectural ensembles. With its necklace of the palaces along the quiet canals and gracious Neva River, St. Petersburg is a unique harmonious combination of nature and creative inspiration. Visit the splendid Winter Palace to see the priceless collection of the Hermitage. Feel a sense of history as we bring you to the Palace Square, the magnificent Cathedral of St. Isaac, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Admiralty and Nevsky Prospect – a busy shopping street brimming with the latest fashion collections. This evening why not book yourself to a ballet performance by the world-renowned Kirov ballet and immerse in a Russian high culture?
Day 05 St. Petersburg
After breakfast, we take an excursion to the majestic Petrodvorets Summer Palace outside St. Petersburg. Once known as Peterhof, it was the summer residence of the Tsar, and is word-famous for its golden Grand Cascade – a sleep fall of 64 gilded fountains flowing in front of the Grand Palace. We return to the city for free time at leisure.
